On Saturday, the Tabor basketball teams went on the road for the second round of the KCAC tournament, but neither advanced to the finals. On Saturday night, the Tabor women stuggled to find their scoring touch during a manic match with Ottawa.

The Bluejays took a 6-0 lead, but Ottawa bounced back with a 9-0 run. Tabor pulled even on a 3-point play by Emily Vogts that made it 11-11 with 13:11 to play in the first half.

Forcing turnovers and crashing the boards at both ends, Ottawa put together another big run to make it 22-13 over the next 4:50. The Bluejays never recovered, but did rally at the end of the half.

Trailing 33-19 with 2:06 left, Tabor got consecutive field goals from Emily Vogts and Stacie Herman swished a 3-pointer with 21 seconds left.

The halftime score was 33-26, but by the time 2:37 had ticked off of the second half clock, Ottawa led 42-26.

Tabor turned up the pressure, but never came within 13 points of taking the lead.

Vogts led all scorers with 21 points and was joined in double digits by Herman, who had 12.

On Saturday afternoon, the Tabor men went up against the Kansas Wesleyan Coyotes team that dominated the KCAC in regular season play.

The Coyotes jumped out to a five point lead in the first five minutes, but Kyle Kroeker slashed the K-W lead to 15-13 with a 3-pointer at 9:18.

A 15-2 Coyote run after that made it 30-15 with 5:13 to go in the first half. Tabor got a 6-0 run together in the final 1:17, but trailed 39-35 at intermission.

The second half saw K-W push its lead to as many as 26 points.

Greg Munroe led all scorers with 23 points and 10 rebounds, but Tabor was unable to keep pace with the regular season conference champions.
