David John Bishop, 53, owner of Dave's 2-Way Communications, died Feb. 10 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

The service is at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14, at Canton Christian Church with Jack Smith officiating. Burial is at Canton Township Cemetery.

He was born Oct. 24, 1953, to Gordon L. and Bonnie Webb Bishop in McPherson. On July 26, he was married to Stacey L. Magby, who survives in Canton.

He is also survived by two daughters, Lisa and Andrea, both of Canton; his mother of Canton; a brother, Lloyd of Canton; and a sister, Barbara Hester of Roseville, Calif.

Memorials have been established with the Andrea Bishop Education Fund and Canton Christian Church in care of Olson's Mortuary.

Emma Meier

Emma Lucille Eitel Meier, 88, died Feb. 7 at Fort Scott Manor in Fort Scott.

The service was held Feb. 10 in the Cheney Witt Chapel in fort Scott. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery.

She was born Sept. 12, 1918, to Samuel J. and Katherine Marie (Wagoner) Eitel in Tampa. On Dec. 1, 1938, she was married to George Meier, who predeceased her.

She is survived by a son, Delmon; a daughter, Darla and Delbert Crays; three sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Helmer of Hillsboro, Irene Eitel of Salina and Rhoda Eitel of Arizona; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial has been established with the Hepler Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

Al Schmidt

Adolf "Al" Schmidt, 93, retired farm supply manager, died Feb. 9 at Bethesda Home in Goessel.

The service is at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14, at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church in rural Goessel with pastors Lee Suderman and Linda Ewert officiating. Burial is at 9:30 a.m. at Alexanderwohl Cemetery.

He was born June 17, 1913, to Jacob and Maria (Hiebert) Schmidt in Marion County. On Aug. 14, 1936, he was married to Susie Bergen, who survives in Goessel.

He is also survived by two sons, Robert and Sylvia of Wichita and Larry and Anita of Hutchinson; a daughter, Janice Elaine Silvertson of Grand Marais, Minn.; a brother, Rudy of Goessel; a sister, Frieda Voth of Goessel; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Memorials have been established with Bethesda Home, Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church and Mennonite Central Committee in care of Miller Funeral Home in Goessel.

Jack Shipman

Jackie Franklin D. "Jack" Shipman, 73, retired precision assembly crew chief at Beech Aircraft, died Feb. 6 in Florence.

The service was held Feb. 10 at the Florence Christian Church. Militray services at the graveside were provided by the John McKay American Legion Post No. 308.

He was born dec. 23, 1933, to Orris "Fuzz" and Audine (Arnold) Shipman in Elbing. On June 22, 1959, he was married to Beverly Jean Crowley, who survives.

He is also survived by five children, Darla and Richard Wyss of Newton; Don "Bink" and Debbie of Florence; Jackie of Newton; Jerry and Tearie of Augusta and Julie Crayton of Newton.

Memorials have been established with Hospice Care of Kansas and Florence Christian Church in care of Zeiner Funeral Home.

George Toews

George W. Toews, 65, retired welder and warehouse employee for Excel Industries, died Feb. 9 in rural Canton.

The service was Feb. 12 at West Zion Mennonite Church in Moundridge with pastor John Yoder-Schrock officiating. Burial was in Canton Township Cemetery.

He was born Sept. 22, 1941, to John H. and Martha M. Krehbiel Toews in McPherson. On Dec. 11, 1966, he was married to Diane Hett, who survives in Canton.

He is also survived by a son, Flint of Canton; a daughter, Mardi Heintzman of Hutchinson; two sisters, Sharron Kemph of Arkansas City and Bonnie Claassen of Topeka; and two grandchildren.

A memorial has been established with McPherson County Fair Association Junior Rodeo in care of Olson's Mortuary in Canton.

Marium Webster

Marium L. Webster, 93, former owner/operator of Webster Auto Service in Marion, died Feb. 9 at Marion Manor.

The service was held Feb. 12 at Valley United Methodist Church in Marion with Phil Smith officiating. Burial was in Marion Cemetery.

He was born Feb. 1, 1914, to Jonas and Lida (Lee) Webster in Canton. On Oct. 11, 1936, he was married to Nora Kline, who died in 1994.

He is survived by two sons, John and Carolyn of McPherson and Laurence and Glenda of Wichita; two daughters, Jeannette and Bob Matz of Marion and Margo Allen of Las Vegas, Nev.; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Memorials have been established with the Marion chapter of Quail Unlimited and the American Cancer Society in care of Zeiner Funeral Home in Marion.
