Don and Kathy Brax of Washington and Wes and Deloris Hiebert of El Dorado announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their children, Lynette Brax of Manhattan and Nathan Hiebert of Hillsboro.

The bride-elect is a 1999 graduate of Washington High School and a 2005 graduate of Manhattan Christian College and Kansas State University. She is employed as a second-grade teacher at Ware Elementary.

Her fiance is a 1999 graduate of El Dorado High School and a 2003 graduate of Bethany College. He is employed as a business teacher and coach at Hillsboro High School.

The wedding is planned for June 30 at University Christian Church in Manhattan.

Garcia, Whiteside to wed April 14

Melissa Dawn Garcia and Toby Lane Whiteside, both of Peabody, together with their parents announce their engagement and approaching marriage.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Cy and Ginger Garcia of Florence. She is a 2001 graduate of Marion High School.

Her fiance is the son of Marilyn and Roger Koehn of Newton and Brian and Tammy Whiteside of Peabody. He is a 1998 graduate of Peabody-Burns High School.

The wedding is planned for April 14. A reception will follow at the American Legion of Peabody.
