On Saturday afternoon, the Tabor men managed only nine points in the first half of a 64-39 non-conference loss to Benedictine.
Led by Emily Vogts, the women's team clobbered Concordia 63-50.
Tabor College put the fininshing touches on the 2006 portion of the season with Holiday Classic games against Benedictine and Concordia.
The women's team found its scoring touch early and cruised to a 63-50 win.
But at the halftime break, Concordia trailed by only a point.
As Bluejay forwards Donya Anderson (8 points), Nicole Ellis (11 points) and Emily Vogts (14 points) slowly took over the game, they started getting extra attention from the Bulldog defense.
On top of their trouble handling Tabor's posts, Concordia barely slowed Tabor's guards from slashing to the basket for open looks close to the rim in the second half.
Staci Herman, starting to shake off a bit of the rust that accumulated during five months out of the lineup, made her mark on the game with points in the paint to go with three-of=four free throws.
But it was Andrea Robinson who left a lasting impression on those in attendance.
Robinson played a dominant game at the point guard position by recording 5 assists and 5 steals.
The win pushed the women to 12-1 overall.
The men lost 64-39.
After being outscored 39-9 in the first half, Tabor dialed up the intensity of its play at both ends of the floor and outscored the Ravens the rest of the way.
With his team down by 36, Mike Willis, playing for pride, sparked a 17-6 run with a free throw midway through the second half.
But by that time, Benedictine center Dan VanDyke had already wrecked havoc in the paint; combined with spurts of scoring from the Ravens bench, Tabor was unable to close the gap down the stretch.
VanDyke scored 13 points and led the visitors to a 40-27 rebounding edge, and his team never trailed on the scoreboard.
Tabor is set to return to action in Hillsboro on Jan. 4 against Southwestern. The women will tip off at 6 p.m. followed by the men's game at 8 p.m.
