The first nine-pin-no-tap USBC handicap doubles tournament drew 40 two-member teams to SherBowl Lanes in Marion. Nov. 4 and 11.
Participants came from around the area, including Marion, Lincolnville, Herington, Peabody and Hillsboro.
The top 10 couples received cash prizes. Achievement certificates were given to top individuals for their efforts.
The tournament was hosted by the Marion USBC Bowling Association & SherBowl Lanes.
The nine-pin-no-tap tournament was the first for Marion USBC Bowling Association to host. All other tournaments have been standard 10-pin.
"The experience and excitement of running and watching a tournament like this was a pleasure," said John Brewer, association manager. "The participation was excellent, from youth members to seniors."
Led by a perfect 300 game by Brewer during the first session of the tournament, Brewer and partner Russ Cain took first place with a combined score of 1,485.
In second place with score of 1,483 were partners, Gloria Seifert and Greta Smith.
The following individuals received certificates for their achievements.
