Susan Kruger, Hesston, will present "Finding the Joy of Art in the Golden Years" at the 60+ Learning in Retirement Program, Monday, Oct. 30.
The session will begin at 10 a.m. in the Wohlgemuth Music Education Center, located on the Tabor College campus.
Kruger has been instrumental in forming an art club at Schowalter Villa in Hesston. She was born and raised in Canada, and is a retired professor from the Wichita State University School of Nursing.
She and husband Harold were missionaries in the Congo until the 1960s uprising. The two Tabor alumni now live in Schowalter Villa.
The WMEC lobby will be transformed into an art gallery with works in various media on display. Artists represented will include late Hillsboro artists Ruby Patton, Marlys Penner and Emma Flaming, as well as living local artists "Doc" George Ens and LeOra Grunau.
Older adults are invited to attend. Enrollment is $15 per person a semester, $28 per couple or $4 a session. First-time visitors will be admitted free of charge.
