Otto Epp

Otto Abraham Epp, 97, retired owner and editor of the Greeley County Republican Newspaper, died Oct. 11 at Greeley County Hospital in Tribune.

Services were held Oct. 14 at First Presbyterian Church in Tribune with pastor Charles Ayers presiding. Burial was in Greeley County Cemetery.

He was born Aug. 13, 1909, to John Herbert and Helena Ratzlaff Epp in Harvey County. He graduated from Hillsboro High School. On Oct. 3, 1937, he was married to Georgia Johnson, who died in 1997.

He is survived by three sons, David E. of Derwood, Md., Dan M. of Tribune and John of Des Moines, Iowa; a daughter, Mary Jane Di Piero of Palo Alto, Calif.; a brother, Orlando of Honolulu, Hawaii; and four grandchildren.

Memorials have been established with Greeley County Health Services and First Presbyterian Church of Tribune, in care of Price and Sons Funeral Home in Tribune.

Larry Kleiber

Larry Eugene Kleiber, 59, farmer, died Oct. 17 at Memorial Hospital in McPherson.

The service was held Oct. 21 at First Mennonite Church in Hillsboro with pastor Randy Smith officiating. Burial was at Lewis Cemetery, 1/2 mile west of Ramona.

He was born Jan. 31, 1947, to Harold H. and Lorene Miller Kleiber in Hillsboro.

He is survived by his mother of Hillsboro; two sons, Timothy D. and Michelle of Olathe and Michael D. of Kansas City; a daughter, Stacie Rae and Derrick Perry of Pittsburg; a brother, Mike and Carolyn of rural Hillsboro; a sister, Jayne and Gene Boggs of McPherson; and three grandchildren.

Memorials have been established with First Mennonite Church and a Grandchildren Scholarship Fund, in care of Jost Funeral Home in Hillsboro.

Eugene Ratzloff

Eugene Ratzloff, 81, retired welder and farmer and former owner of the Canton Dairy Bar, died Oct. 20 in Canton.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

He was born Dec. 6, 1924, to Jonas and Katherine Holdeman Ratzloff in Moundridge. On Sept. 23, 1945, he was married to Jean Decker, who survives in Canton.

He is also survived by two sons, Jim of Denver, Colo., and Don of Charlotte, N.C.; a daughter, Jeanie Scott of Fall River; two brothers, Thomas and Menford, both of Canton; a sister, Marjorie Unruh of Galva; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

A memorial has been established with Hospice Care of Kansas in care of Olson's Mortuary in Canton.
