Our wish for Ms. Huffman's success is not only for her benefit, but for ours, too. Marion County needs a burst of economic development, and we hope the commissioners have created a position that will enable her to pursue clearly defined expectations that are not only positive but also measurable. Our concern in no way reflects on Ms. Huffman's skills or qualifications for the job, but on the long and sometimes convoluted process of figuring out what kind of professional assistance will best serve this county.

Teresa Huffman deserves support that is both patient and encouraging as she steps into uncharted territory. We all have a lot to learn. -DR
