Wilma Crowther

Wilma Crowther, 89, homemaker and co-owner of JC Livestock Co. and Crowther Cattle Co., died Oct. 5 at Salina Regional Medical Center.

The service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, at Roxbury United Parish with pastor Nancy Modin presiding, assisted by Don Hammerli. Burial will be at Roxbury Valley View Cemetery.

She was born Aug. 3, 1917, to Carl and Beatrice Williams Kaiser in rural Canton. On July 17, 1937, she was married to James Ronald Crowther, who died in 1999.

She is survived by a son, Jimmy Crowther of Roxbury; four daughters, Katie Weis and Karen Sutton, both of Salina, Karleen Burch of Gypsum and Lynnie Crowther of Roxbury; 13 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

A memorial has been established with Roxbury Children's Park in care of Olson's Mortuary in Canton.

Margaret Eitzen

Margaret Eitzen, 103, retired registered nurse, died Oct. 5 at Salem Nursing Home in Hillsboro.

The service was held Oct. 9 at Hillsboro United Methodist Church with pastors Nancy Douglas and Steve Friesen officiating. Burial was in Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Cemetery.

She was born July 26, 1903, to Frank and Katherine (Buller) Regier in rural Moundridge. On June 19, 1937, she was married to Herbert C. Eitzen, who died in 1964.

She is survived by a son, Alan and Jan Eitzen of Newton; two grandchildren, Amy Suderman of Hillsboro and Mark Eitzen of Topeka; and one great-grandchild.

Memorials have been Hillsboro United Methodist Church and Salem Nursing Home in care of Jost Funeral Home in Hillsboro.

Alfred Friesen

Alfred W. Friesen, 80, retired jewelry-store owner, died Oct. 9 at Park Village in Reedley, Calif.

He was a long-time Hillsboro businessman.

He is survived by his wife, Delores of Reedley; two sons, David and Dale; four brothers, Vernon and Andy, both of Hillsboro, Orville of Fremont, Calif., and Norman of Shafter, Calif.; and a sister, Arlene Dahl of Minneapolis, Minn.
