Dr. Scharenberg will speak on Oct. 4 at the Hillsboro Senior Center, followed by registered nurse Jeanne Rziha speaking on Alzheimer's disease.

Rziha will also offer her third class on diabetes at 7 p.m. Oct. 4. Call her at 947-3048 to reserve a seat.

Tickets may still be purchased for $4 for the 46th annual meeting for senior citizens of Marion County, to be held Oct. 12 at the center. Jonah Kliewer will present a musical program, followed by the business meeting. Registration will begin at 11 a.m.

A van outing to the Kansas Cosmosphere will be offered Oct. 13 to see the exposition on the adventures of Lewis and Clark. For more information, call the center at 947-2304. Bus seats are filling quickly.

A defensive-driver course will be offered for drivers of all ages Oct. 16 and 17 at the center. Cost is $10 for books and supplies. Call to register.

John and Cindy Baize will offer a slide presentation following the noon meal Oct. 18 on their mission trip last summer to an orphanage in Guatemala City.

Those who would like to begin receiving the monthly newsletter can call 947-2301 or stop by the center.
