Cross-country teams from Marion High and Centre High ran at Council Grove on Thursday.
The Marion boys' team was led to a first-place finish by Daniel Goentzel, who won the varsity race in a time of 17 minute, 42 seconds.
Louis Holt (18:31, fifth) set a personal record and finished second for the Warriors. Also competing were Ryan Jones (18:46, 11th), Luke Bowers (19:22, 21st), Matt Kirkpatrick (19:41, 29th), Logan Richmond (20:12, 36th) and Ben Leppke (21:26, 42nd).
Danielle Cope (17:45, third), Camille Christensen (18:37, eighth) and Tacy Taylor (19:04, 15th) medaled for the Warriors.
Jaclyn Deforest (19:48, 26th), Brooke Johnson (20:40, 34th) and Katie Hett (20:52, 36th) rounded out the team's scoring.
The Warriors grabbed third place behind Bennington and Northern Heights.
Centre fielded five runners: Brittany Owens (23:15, 56th), Allie Will (25:24, 64th), Kristine Jirak (23:36, 57th), Justine Jennings (25:19, 63rd) and Elya Medikhova (24:50, 61st).
