--Centre lost 66-20 against Claflin on Friday. The Cougars scored 10 seconds into the game when Thieen Antoszyk found Kevin Mueller open for a 17-yard touchdown catch.

Claflin scored the next three touchdowns, but Mueller caught a 25-yard touchdown late in the quarter as Centre cut the lead to eight points.

But when the Cougars lost Seth Jirak to a knee injury, Claflin capitalized, running off five consecutive scores and the bulk of their 639 offensive yards.

"Claflin has a lot of weapons," Cougars coach Kelly Steiner said. "I thought we played well and stayed with them for the first quarter and a half. Their speed and strength eventually wore us down"

With the game well out of reach, Mueller caught a 57-yard pass from sophomore quarterback Ben Krause early in the fourth quarter. Mueller finished with four catches for 120 yards and 3 scores on offense and an interception on defense.
