Walter and Clara Vogts of rural Canton will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary with an open house from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 8, in the fellowship hall of Immanuel Lutheran Church, located seven miles south and one mile west of Canton.
Walter and the former Clara Boesker were married Oct. 19, 1941, at the church by Pastor Schmidt. Walter, who turned 90 on Sept. 23, farmed in rural Canton. Clara is a homemaker.
Hosts for the event will be their children and spouses: Peggy and Kenny Martens of Inman, Gene Vogts of Moundridge, Louretta and Virgil Wedel of Canton, Sue and Tom Stucky of Moundridge and Paul Vogts of Knoxville, Tenn.
The couple have 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
