David Jackson

David E. Jackson, 71, retired grocery-store manager, died Sept. 10 at the Via Christi Medical Center, St. Francis Campus in Wichita.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13, at Zeiner Funeral Home in Marion, with family greeting visitors from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 14, at Valley United Methodist Church in Marion with pastor Phil Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Marion Cemetery.

He was born Jan. 5, 1935, to John M. and Jewel L. (James) Jackson in Carter County, Okla. On Aug. 20, 1971, he was married to Vicki Ray, who survives in Marion.

He is also survived by a son, Jeff of Atlanta, Ga.; three daughters, Paula Milner of Emporia, Sherry Trevino of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Kim Burtin of Bartlesville, Okla.; two brothers, J.C. of Wilson, Okla., and Paul of Coffeyville; a sister, Mary McDonald of Bartlesville; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Memorials have been established with Marion City Library and Valley United Methodist Church.

Herman Regier

Herman L. Regier, 79, farmer, died July 30 at Via Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita.

He was born Nov. 7, 1926, to P.A. and Marie Regier in Hesston. In 1950, he was married to Sarah Boehr, who survives in North Newton.

He is also survived by three sons, Leon and Marilyn Regier of Grant, Neb., Dale and Teresa Regier of Abbotsford, B.C., and Larry and Kristi Regier of Independence, Mo.; two daughters, Marilyn and Craig King of Hesston and Karen and Terry Deaver of Augusta; two brothers, Pete and Rachel Regier and Ivan and Ann Regier, all of Madrid, Neb.; and two sisters, Marian Doerksen of Camp Verde, Ariz., and Ruth and Curt Preheim of Freeman, S.D.

Delores Richert

Delores Marie Richert, 76, died Sept. 6 at Shiloh Manor in Canton.

The service was held Sept. 9 at First Mennonite Church in Hillsboro with pastor Randy Smith officiating. Burial was in Peace Valley Cemetery in rural Durham.

She was born Dec. 23, 1929, to Ben B. Jantz and Alma Johnson Jantz in rural Tampa. On June 10, 1949, she was married to Orville Richert, who died in 2006.

She is survived by two sons, Verlin and Edna of Assaria and Bentley and Connie of Abbyville; two daughters, Krystal and Everett Jensen of Roxbury and Annette and Randy Goering of Great Bend; four brothers, Fiennes Jantz of Durham, Manford Jantz of Connecticut, Gerald Jantz of Utah and Kenneth Jantz of Arizona; six sisters, Geneva Stucky of McPherson and Evelyn Potts, Donna Phillips, Shirley Branch, Joan Huntoon and Sharon Wisdom, all of Wichita; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial has been established with Hospice Care of Kansas in care of Jost Funeral Home in Hillsboro.

Erma Stelting

Erma W. Stelting, 90, retired bookkeeper, died Sept. 4 at Parkside Homes in Hillsboro.

The service was held Sept. 9 at Jost Funeral Home in Hillsboro with pastor Dave Plett officiating. Burial was at Lehigh Mennonite Cemetery.

She was born Jan. 16, 1916, to Emil Weyand and Bena Ratzlaff Weyand in Chinook, Mont. On Jan. 2, 1965, she was married to Carl Stelting, who died in 2005.

She is survived by three sons, Roger D. Haefke of Wichita, Charles R. Haefke of Gladstone, Mo., and Duane A. Haefke of Shelbyville, Ky.; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A memorial has been established with the Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church Building Fund, in care of the funeral home.
