Donavon and Deloris Schmidt will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sept. 9 at their home, located at 1126 NE 96th St. in Newton.
Donavon Schmidt and Deloris Schmidt were married on Sept. 14, 1956.
Donavon is the former owner and operator of S&S Oil supply and Rolling Hills Mobil Service. He retired from Bethel College as a director of physical plant. Deloris is a former employee of Hesston State Bank and retired from Citizens State Bank in Goessel.
Hosting the event will be their children, Kim Schmidt of Newton, Greg Schmidt of Hesston and Darren and Chris Schmidt of Newton. They have three grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Friends are invited. The couple has requested no gifts.
