Have you noticed the beautiful sidewalk that is buckling higher and higher at the corner of Ash and First streets? I notice it every day I go running.

Running gives me a lot of time to think about what would happen if someone fell over that sidewalk? How badly would they get hurt? Probably pretty badly if it was an older couple.

Also, how many of you have noticed how much it floods and gets muddy when it rains? It wasn't very safe to run or walk on the street when cars were going in both directions because the sidewalk has puddles and mud.

I called city hall about the sidewalk and was told it would be turned over to the building inspector; they didn't know when they would be able to fix it.

All I ask is that if it can't be fixed sooner, could it be fixed by the Arts & Crafts Fair in September? It's a real hazard and not very pretty.
