Marjorie L. Carrell, 68, housewife, died July 25 in Peabody.
The funeral was at 11 a.m. July 27 at Jost Funeral Home in Hillsboro, with pastor Roy Keller officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery in Indiana.
She was born Dec. 12, 1937, to James E. Platt and Kitty M. Brocies Platt in Madison County, Ind. On May 26, 1958, she was married to Robert Carrell, who survives in Peabody.
Survivors also include a son, Thomas Carrell of Newton; four daughters, Cheryl Potts of Wichita, Joni Leis, also of Wichita, Kathy Carrell of Newton and Tina Hardin of Lawrence; a sister, Betty Mains of Hillsboro; eight grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
A memorial has been established with the American Caner Society.

Carl Friesen
Carl M. Friesen, 89, orthopedic surgeon of Lexington, Ky., and Naples, Fla., and formerly of Hillsboro, died Saturday July 15 in Lexington.
The funeral was July 19 at Walnut Hill Church.
He was born April 21, 1917, to Peter and Alice H. Friesen in Hillsboro. He was married for 64 years to Wilma Nelson Friesen, formerly of Marion, who survives.
Survivors also include a son, Jerold Friesen and wife Mary Lou of Lexington; three daughters, Julie Allen and husband Ken of Louisville, Ky., Melinda Friesen of Newnan, Ga., and Elisa Smith and husband Carthel of Lexington; a brother Paul H. Friesen and wife Greta of Oklahoma; six grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.

Glennon Minear
Glennon E. Minear Sr., 90, U.S. Army veteran and retired banker, died July 24 at his home in Bakersfield, Calif.
The funeral was July 29 in Bakersfield, arranged were made by Mission Family Mortuary.
He was born March 13, 1916, to I.G. and Pauline Anderson Minear in Canton. On Oct. 17, 1942, he was married to Marjorie Lee, who predeceased him in 1998.
Survivors include two sons, Glen Minear Jr. and Alan Minear, both of Bakersfield; two brothers, Billy B. Minear of Canton and Gene Minear of McPherson, and four grandchildren.
