More than 200 people were in attendance to witness 17 Tabor College Wichita students complete the registered nurse to bachelor of science in nursing (RN-BSN) program and participate in a pinning ceremony May 19 at Westlink Christian Church, Wichita.
"Nursing pinning ceremonies are historically a time when nurses earn the right to wear a pin symbolizing the nursing program, college and academic accomplishment," said Tona Leiker, chair of the nursing department.
Those receiving the pin were members of the BSN 8 and BSN 9 cohorts. They were Julie Ashbrook Deering, Stephanie Butts, Nancy Colburn, Janette Judd, Heather Lautt, Janice Morris, Ruth Owen, Lori Pauls, Jacqueline Pennington, Song Yan Qin, Laine Kae Riggs, Cathy Steele, Rebecca Ann Swisher, Christian Taylor, Lisa Uhlik-Allmond, La Veta Marie Woodson-Jarrett and Jennifer Wright.
The RN-BSN degree completion program at Tabor College Wichita began in 2001.
