The Marion-Florence FFA Chapter held its seventh annual Ag Awareness Day Tuesday, May 9 at the football stadium on Eisenhower drive.
Members invited third graders from Marion and Hillsboro elementary schools. about 100 students participated.
The day included presentations about farming practices involving agricultural equipment, safety and animal agriculture.
The FFA chapter also organized a petting zoo for the students as one of the rotations.
Supplying equipment or animals to the event were Cooperative Grain & Supply, Deer Trail Equipment and Straub International.
The following FFA members made presentations: Tacy Taylor and Austin Percell, sheep; Trent Radtke and Bryce Suffield, hay balers; Mark Kukuk and Alan Overton, tillage equipment; Hank Collett and Riley Ross, poultry; Kevin Billbe and Alycia Pontious, combines; Adam Depler and Braden Suffield, tractors/power takeoff safety; Chase Williams and Shawn Britton, all-terrain vehicle safety; Brad Klenda and Levi Carpenter, swine; Emmanual Jackson and Roxann Ross, entomology; Jacob Czarnowsky and Zan Fine, poison awareness; Gabe Moore and Frankie Clark, mules; John Goering and Adam Trapp, goats; and Danielle Cope and Desirae Depler, beef cattle.
