PARTLY NONSENSE- Breakfast is first step to a good day, every day

You should never work before breakfast. If you do have to work before breakfast, then you should eat breakfast first.
These words are from Josh Billings, who, I believe, was a humorist in the 1800s.
I have found that many younger people do not eat breakfast. I was that way too when I was a lot younger. Through the years I learned I couldn't function without breakfast. And it is the best meal to eat too much of if you have to.

If we think the price of gasoline is too high in the United States, try Europe. There, it ranges from $6.40 to $8 per gallon.
European governments have used tax on gasoline to try to limit consumption. Take the taxes out of the equation and their cost for gas would be about $2.50 per gallon.
Their geography is quite different as well. The distance between towns and countries is much shorter.

I wonder when singing began. I did a little research but didn't learn much, so I will have to guess when it started.
It probably was when mothers were trying to get their babies to go to sleep and thought maybe a lullaby would do the trick.

I had a cosmic experience this past week. It started when we got back from Florida two weekends ago.
Our satellite dish TV was acting up. Sometimes the TV in the living room would work and then other times the TV in the bedroom would work-but not both at the same time. Sometimes it would record and other times not.
I hate calling tech support because of the hold times. The first time I called I talked with someone, but she put me on permanent hold. I had to get back to work, so I hung up.
A couple of days later I called again and got a playwright who was hoping to get published and move to Europe. He said that a new DVR unit was being shipped to me from the first call but he thought it was the switch outside. After all of his ideas failed, we decided to wait for the new unit.
When the new unit arrived Friday I traded all of the cables from the old one to the new one and went through the steps to set it up. This was late Friday night and after following all of the instructions, a message came on the screen to call to reauthorize the signal.
It was late and I was beginning to doze off, so Nancy said I should hang up and try again tomorrow. That's when the cosmic experience began. I said the power might go off and I'd have to start over. So I waited and waited. Finally, I gave the phone to my brother and asked him to listen for the tech guy.
The tech guy finally came on and verified our system and just when he finished, guess what. The power went off.

Don't forget the Farmer's Market this Thursday night. It's used-car night and believe me, the event is a real happening.
