The Tabor College softball team concluded its regular season schedule with a 6-0 loss to Newman University on Thursday afternoon at the Hillsboro Sports Complex. Tabor stands at 3-28-1 for the season.

Sterling-Tabor traveled to Sterling on Tuesday to wrap up the regular conference season schedule with a pair of games against the Warriors.

Sterling won both games, 11-3 and 14-0.

In the opener, pitcher Johannah Love was roughed up. The senior allowed 14 hits and 10 earned runs in four-plus innings.

After a scoreless first inning, Sterling erupted for seven runs in the second inning, added two runs in the third and sealed the game with a five-run fifth.

Tabor helped Sterling's cause by committing four errors.

The Bluejays' only hits were singles by Stephanie Stuber and Sara Thiessen and a triple by Clancey Kelley.

Love eventually left the contest after injuring her ankle while sliding into second base.

In Game 2, freshman pitcher Kalie George didn't fare much better than Love, allowing 15 hits and 10 earned runs in 61â3 innings.

After Sterling took a 5-0 lead after two innings, Tabor answered with a pair of runs in the third, but Sterling used a four-run fourth to separate themselves from the Bluejays with a 9-2 lead.

Tabor managed four base hits. Kelley had a pair of singles and drove in the Bluejays' only run. Jacqueline Schnell had two base hits, including a double.

The Bluejays committed only two errors in the loss, which dropped them to 3-27-1 for the season and 2-14 in the KCAC.

Coming-The Bluejays play Saint Mary on Thursday at 10:00 a.m in a play-in game in the KCAC post-season tournament.
