By capturing first place in both singles flights and second place in both doubles flights, the Hillsboro High School tennis team won a quadrangular tennis meet at Circle High School April 13.

The Trojans claimed the team title with 22 points, Valley Center followed with 20, Circle 15 and Haven 3.

Trojans Kyle Kroeker and Macy Fadenrecht won No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively, while Peter Fast and Robert Jost placed second in No. 1 doubles and Ric Johnson and Clay Shewey did the same in No. 2 doubles.

Kroeker defeated Ryan Fulcer of Valley Center 8-0, Travis Stoll of Haven 8-0 and Phillip Zimmerman of Circle 8-5.

Fadenrecht defeated Johannes Patz of Valley Center 8-0, Brad McGrane of Haven 8-0 and Jenz Van-Lier of Circle 8-2.

Fast and Jost lost to Tim Koehn and Doug Irby of Valley Center 0-8 and Dadamukhamedoui and Pasinskis of Haven 0-8, then defeated Harris Butler and Wade Patterson of Circle 8-2.

Johnson and Shewey lost to Fiene and Toews of Valley Center 6-8, then defeated Colton Howard and Cale Bookout of Haven 8-1 and Austin Towne and Seth Mechem of Circle 8-3.

JV at Smoky Valley-At a junior varsity meet at Smoky Valley on April 15, Caleb Barkman placed third in No. 1 singles, Matthew Brown seventh in No. 2 singles, and Nolan Dirks and Ben Heyen second in No. 1 doubles.

Coming-The Trojan varsity was scheduled to compete at the Hesston Invitational on Tuesday. In a busy week to follow, the Trojans will play host to the Hillsboro Invitational on Monday with matches beginning at the Sports Complex at 3 p.m.

The following day, Hillsboro will compete at the Sterling Invitational, then will cap off the full week Thursday with the MCAA league tournament at Sterling.
