Faron and Beverly Wilson of Peabody announce the engagement of their daughter, Roxanne Robinson of Emporia, to Brett Van Gundy, also of Emporia, the son of Cruz and Susan Mendoza and Michael Van Gundy, all of Emporia.
The bride-elect is a 1998 graduate of Peabody-Burns High School and a 2000 graduate of Butler County Community College in El Dorado. She is a public-safety dispatcher at the Emporia Police Department.
Her fiance is a 1994 graduate of Emporia High School and is a detention officer at the Lyons County Sheriff's office in Emporia.
The couple plan to be married Sept. 2 at the Emporia Country Club.
