A fourth-quarter turnaround fell short for the Marion boys Friday night, as Haven prevailed 62-57 in a league game at Marion.

The Warriors trailed most of the game and in the forth quarter brought it back to within five.

Isiah Barfield of Haven was the first score in the game, but Marion's Jason Hett stole the ball and tied the game on a layup. With 4:37 left in the first quarter, Haven's Jared Snodgrass scored two points, but Marion's Calvin Jeffrey answered with a 3-pointer.

With 40 seconds to go, Casey Stewart of Haven made a 3-pointer to increase the Wildcats' lead to four. Jeffrey and Emmanuel Jackson of Marion followed with two points each to tie the game after one quarter.

That's when the game turned as Haven started the second period with a 10-0 run. Travis Hett ended the streak with his first 3-pointer of the night.

A basket by Jason Hett with 10 seconds to go brought the Warriors to within 12 points at halftime.

During the third quarter, the Warriors held Haven 16 points while scoring 13. Trailing by 15 at the final break, the Warriors were still looking for a huge turnaround.

Travis Hett started the fourth quarter with two free throws. After Barfield answered with a lay up, Jeffrey Richmond sank a 3-pointer to pull Marion to with 52-40.

When Emanuel Jackson scored with 1:53, Marion was within four points. Haven made two free throws after a foul by Russell Ploutz.

With 2.4 seconds left, Jeremy Vondenkamp made the final basket to make the score 62-57.

Jason Hett led Marion with 15 points and Travis Hett added 12. For Haven, Barfield scored 39 points.
