Fourth-rated women defeat Bethel 73-40, men pound Threshers 58-34 The fourth-rated Tabor College women wrapped up an undefeated KCAC slate with an easy 73-40 win over Bethel College Saturday night in Hillsboro.

The win gave the Bluejays a perfect 18-0 conference mark while their 22nd straight win pushed Tabor's overall record to 25-3.

The Bluejays left no doubt as to the outcome of this one early, sprinting to a 42-13 halftime lead.

Tabor's largest lead of 39 points came at the 7:56 mark, 66-27, before the Bluejays settled for the 33 point final decision.

Tabor was led offensively by Donya Anderson and Stacie Herman with 14 points each as the Bluejays connected on 61.5 percent from the field in the first half (16 of 26) before finishing the contest hitting 22 of 45 (49 percent).

Bethel College was led in scoring by Sheena Walker with 12.

Tabor's defense was again the story, limiting the Threshers to just 28 percent shooting from the field (14 of 50) while the Bluejay pressure forced 23 Bethel turnovers which Tabor converted into 24 points.

Bethel falls to 1-17 and 3-24.

Tabor will host a quarter-final game of the KCAC post season tournament on Wednesday at 7:00 against the winner of the McPherson (8) and Saint Mary (9) game.

The Tabor men made it two in a row with a convincing 58-34 shellacking of the Threshers.

Tabor's defense held the visitors to just 14 first half points and 22 percent shooting for the game (12 of 55).

Brad Gattis led the Bluejays with 13 points while Tyler Weinbrenner burned his former team for 12 points as Tabor connected on 20 of 48 from the field (42 percent) and added 17 of 27 shooting from the free throw line (63 percent).

Jimmy Charles led the Threshers with just six points.

With the win, Tabor improves to 10-8 in the KCAC and 13-14 overall while Bethel falls to 6-12 and 9-19.

Tabor will travel to Lindsborg as the No. 6 seed on Thursday to battle No. 3 seeded Bethany College at 7:00 in the quarter-finals of the KCAC post season tournament.
