Local students advance to Knights' regional free-throw contest

Seven area students won in their respective age groups at the Knights of Columbus Fr. Emil J. Kapaun Council 3423 free-throw championship Jan. 8 at Centre High School: Amanda Stuchlik (age 10), Anna Weber and James Wyatt (11), Allison Shields and Derek Stuchlik (12) and Diadra Chavers and Jared Diepenbrock (13). They are pictured here with coach Corey Burton of Hillsboro. All advanced to the district free-throw championship Sunday, where the following won in their age groups: Amanda Stuchlik, Shields, Chavers, Wyatt and Diepenbrock. These winners will advance to the regional free-throw championship, to be held Feb. 19 in Chanute.
