Tax-break help on simple tax forms, food sales tax and homestead refunds will be available by appointment on Wednesday, Feb. 1, at the Hillsboro Senior Center. Call 947-3481 for an appointment between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Those celebrating January birthdays on Monday included Betty Gayle, Alene Engel, Esther Prieb, Ron Freeman and Frieda Birkle.

The video "Ten Best Places to Vacation in the United States" will be shown after lunch Thursday, Feb. 2.

Mary McFadden, registered nurse, will give foot care by appointment Monday, Feb. 6.

Diabetic classes will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesdays during the month of February. Call the center to register.

The following individuals volunteered their time at the center last week:

Kitchen: Nellie Jost, Ruth Ann Penner, Irma Koop, Irma Groening, Frieda Birkle, Frances Rempel, Carol Hicks, Mildred Jantz, Mariann Unruh.

Meal delivery: Paul Ediger, Ken Jost.

Fish transportation: Ray Franz, Elgin Bartel.
