David and Suzanne Baker announce the birth of a son, Gavin Curtis, born Jan. 5 in Newton Medical Center.

He weighed 7 pounds, 4 ounces and was 20 inches long.

Grandparents are Cal and Tam Jost and Jim and Elaine Baker.

Great-grandparents are Adina Jost, Walden and Susan Duerksen, Viola Baker Suderman and Roy and Mary Ann Funk.

Great-great-grandmother is Susan Schmidt.

Melia Griffin

Ben and Kendra Griffin of Vinton, Va., announce the birth of a daughter, Melia Nichole, born on her daddy's birthday Jan. 12.

She weighed 5 pounds, 7 ounces and was 19 inches long.

She joins sister Annalise.

Grandparents are Sam and Diane Griffin of Burns and Ken and Hattie Stein of Dodge City.
