The influenza outbreak of 1918 and its connection to Kansas will be examined in video following the meal Jan. 11 and 12 at the Hillsboro Senior Center.

Library books will arrive at noon Jan. 13 at the center. The books may be checked out for six weeks.

The center will be closed Jan. 16 in honor of Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday.

Tax-break help on simple tax forms, food sales tax and homestead refunds will be available by appointment on Wednesday, Jan. 25, and Wednesday, Feb. 1, at the center. Call for an appointment between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

The following individuals volunteered their time at the center last week:

Kitchen: Irma Koop, Irma Groening, Beryl Steiner, Bonnie Funk, Esther Pankratz, Margaret Funk, Mariann Unruh, Lydia Pankratz.

Meal delivery: Elgin Bartel, Pearl Hadley.

Fish transportation: Betty Bernhardt, John Vogt, Kermit Ratzlaff.
