Tabor women win 74-68, men defeated 68-51 The 9th-rated Tabor College women traveled to Chickasha, OK Friday night and defeated a talented University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma team 74-68.

Tabor trailed 35-33 at the half but used a 41-33 second half advantage to garner the victory.

Emily Vogts led Tabor offensively with 17 points while Stacie Herman added 13 and Donya Anderson chipped in 12 points.

Tabor connected on 29 of 65 (44.6 percent) from the field including 3 of 9 (33.3 percent) from behind the 3-point arc.

The Bluejays won the rebounding battle 40-38 and were led by Herman who hauled in eight.

With the win, Tabor improves its record to 10-3 for the season. Their next action comes on Thursday, Jan. 5 when they host the KCAC co-leading Ottawa Braves in Hillsboro.

The Tabor men weren't as fortunate as they were defeated in a physical skirmish 68-51 by Northwest Oklahoma State as part of the Golden Heritage Foods Holiday Classic in Hillsboro.

Tabor never got its offense untracked and trailed 26-20 at halftime.

The Bluejays hung tough though, and trailed by just nine points with five minutes to play but a late flurry by the Rangers resulted in the 17 point win.

Andy Brubacher was Tabor's top scorer with nine points as the Bluejays connected on just 27.1 percent (16 of 59) of its shots from the field including 8 of 28 (28.6 percent) from behind the 3-point arc.

Tabor was brutalized on the boards as the Rangers outrebounded Tabor 54-30.

With the loss, Tabor's record evens at 6-6 for the season.

Tabor returns to action tomorrow night (Saturday) and will play Mckendree, IL at 7:00 p.m.

McKendree is coached by legendary coach Harry Statham who has registered 903 wins in his 40 seasons with the Bearcats.
