Leonard Friesen, 91

Leonard F. Friesen, 91, retired owner of Friesen Builders in Inman, died Dec. 10 at Hospice House in Hutchinson.

Services were held Dec. 13 at Zoar Cemetery and Zoar Mennonite Brethren Church in Inman with pastor Rob Morrow officiating.

He was born Feb. 12, 1914, to Gerhard and Katherine Flaming Friesen in Inman. In 1934 he was married to Louise Grace Thiessen, who predeceased him in 1999.

He is survived by three sons, Gerald and wife Shirley and Raymond and wife Ellen, all of Inman, and Leonard of Corpus Christi, Texas; two daughters, Verbie and husband Bruce Thiessen of Inman and Judie and husband Lu Willems of Hesston; 10 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

A memorial has been established with Zoar Mennonite Brethren Church.

Max Loveless, 83

Max E. Loveless, 83, rancher/ oil man, died Dec. 10 in Canton.

The service was held Dec. 13 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lincolnville with pastor Alan Stahlecker officiating. Burial is in Lincolnville Cemetery.

He was born May 10, 1922, to Ed Loveless and Henrietta Wight Loveless in Antelope. In 1944 he was married to Tabea Miltz, who survives in Antelope.

He is also survived by a son-in-law, Roger Jost of Hutchinson; a daughter-in-law, Sandra Loveless of Antelope; and two grandchildren.

Memorials have been established with St. John's Lutheran Church and Shiloh Manor.

Henry Penner, 101

Henry W. Penner, 101, retired farmer, died Dec. 8 at Mercy Hospital in Moundridge.

The service was held Dec. 11 at Alexanderfeld Church of God in Christ, Mennonite with pastors Maynard Koehn and Charles Johnson officiating. Burial was at Alexanderfeld Church Cemetery in rural Hillsboro.

He was born July 21, 1904, to Isaac Penner and Katarina Wohlgemuth in Clear Springs, Manitoba. In 1928 he was married to Margaret Wiebe in Hillsboro, who predeceased him in 1974. In 1978 he was married to Rosella Ensz, who survives in Moundridge.

He is also survived by a daughter-in-law, Nellie Penner of Hillsboro; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A memorial has been established with Moundridge Manor.

Leslie Suderman, 82

Leslie W. Suderman, 82, farmer/stockman, died Dec. 11 in Hillsboro.

The service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, at Ebenfeld Mennonite Brethren Church in rural Hillsboro, with pastor Gaylord Goertzen officiating. Burial is at Ebenfeld Cemetery.

He was born Aug. 28, 1922, to Ed Suderman and Martha Seibel Suderman in Hillsboro. In 1946 he was married to Rubena Franz, who survives in Hillsboro.

He is also survived by a daughter, Lola and husband Lyle Unruh of Hillsboro; two sisters, Adena Schmidt of Fresno, Calif., and Hilda Hein of Hillsboro; and one granddaughter.

Memorials have been established with the Ebenfeld music department and Parkside Homes.
