Mr. and Mrs. Leo Regier will celebrate their 65th anniversary with a family day Nov. 26 in Marion.
Leo Regier and Marguerite Ferne Harris were married Nov. 24, 1940, at the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Marion. They exchanged vows following the morning service before Rev. Dahm with the congregation as guests.
The couple lived for 25 years in the Manhattan area, where Leo worked as a police officer and Ferne stayed home to raise their family. After he retired in 1976, they traveled the United States, wintering in the south and spending summers in Marion. In 1988, they moved to Marion permanently.
The couple have three daughters, Donna and husband Carl DesSantis of Aurora, Colo., Diana and husband Gaylen Sprecker of Olathe and Barbara and husband Donald Springer of Wamego; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, with another to arrive mid-December.
