The Marion City Commission Monday approved a resolution that sets a 120-day agreement with owners of a structure at 501 N. Roosevelt to demolish or remove it.
Public Works Director Harvey Sanders asked commissioners to look at the light from a new street light bulb installed in front of Gene Winkler's business on Main Street. Sanders said it is a metal halite bulb that gives brighter and cleaner light.
The cost of changing lights to the new one $3 per bulb, which last for three years, he said.
He said city mechanics have replaced the engine in a fire department fuel tanker truck so that it runs better than the truck the department previously had.
City Administrator David Mayfield said he has already inspected 30 to 40 homes that have reported Christmas lights installed in anticipation of the usual city $10 credit on the December utility bill for doing so.
The commissioners approved the credit. They also approved the October utility billing tie out.
