Bluejay women encounter rocky beginning to 2005 season

Three Hillsboro Trojans and three Marion Warriors received all-league attention from the coaches of the Mid-Central Activities Association.
Representing the Eastern Division champion Trojans as unanimous picks to the first team are junior JuliAnne Chisholm, a 5-foot-10 outside hitter, and junior Tina Frick, a 6-1 middle hitter.
Senior Laura Lindsay, a 5-8 setter, received honorable mention.
Chisholm led the Trojans with 199 kills in 524 attempts for a kill percentage of nearly 25 percent. She added 11 solo blocks and 21 assisted blocks, 151 digs and served with a 92 percent success rate.
Frick led the team with 42 solo blocks and 33 assisted blocks. She added 123 kills in 347 attacks for kill percentage of nearly 16 percent.
Lindsay led the team with 818 sets, 253 assists and an assist percentage of 31 percent. She served with a success rate of just under 95 percent. On defense, Lindsay contributed 75 digs.
For Marion, also a member of the Eastern Division, senior Toni Gordon, a 6-0 hitter, was a unanimous pick and junior Erin Richmond, a 5-8 setter, were picked as all-league represenatives.
Senior Megan Hudson, a 5-5 hitter and back-row performer, received honorable mention.
