Georgia Ann Bartel, 71, nurse aide, died Nov. 2 in Wichita.
The service was held Nov. 7 at Jost Funeral Home in Hillsboro with pastor Roger Larsen officiating. Burial was in Durham Park Cemetery.
She was born Nov. 21, 1933, to David Bartel and Anna Claassen Bartel in Durham.
She is survived by a brother, Dean Bartel of Olathe; and a sister, Audrey Bartel of Newton.
A memorial has been established with the Union Rescue Mission of Wichita.
Virginia Learned, 82
Virginia Lee Learned, 82, retired accountant, died Oct. 31 in Florence.
The service was held Nov. 5 at the Christian Church of Florence with pastor Peter Banning officiating. Burial was at Dunlap Cemetery in Rose Hill.
She was born Oct. 24, 1923, to Jessie James and Dixie Lee (Conover) Duggins in Oxford. She was married to Lawrence Learned, who predeceased her in 1982.
She is survived by three sons, David of New Orleans, La., James and wife Deanne of Brighton, Colo., and Larry of Denver, Colo.; a daughter, Judith and husband Larry Creamer of Florence; two sisters, Donna Crupper of Hutchinson and Dixie Weise of Salina; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Memorials have been established with the Christian Church of Florence and the Florence Ambulance Service.
Sharell Mendenhall, 62
Sharell L. Mendenhall, 62, retired certified medication aide, died Nov. 3 at Salina Regional Health Center.
The service was held Nov. 8 at Olson's Mortuary in Canton with pastor Lowell Goering officiating.
She was born Feb. 2, 1943, to Richard and Evelyn Boyer Wyatt in Glasco. In 1990 she was married to Marion Mendenhall, who survives in Canton.
She is also survived by her mother, Evelyn Wyatt of Minneapolis; two daughters, Sharell Yvonne McCleary of Andover and Zelda Lorene Robinson of Canon City, Colo.; three brothers, Larry Wyatt of Eads, Colo.; Ronnie Wyatt of Wiggins, Colo; and Richard Wyatt of Minneapolis; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with American Legion Baseball, Salina Post No. 62.
Chesley Muns, 94
Chesley Burl Muns, 94, retired construction worker for Airforce, died Nov. 2 in Clearwater.
The service was held Nov. 7 at Zion Lutheran Church in Hillsboro. Burial was at Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
He was born Aug. 28, 1911, to Adam Chesley Muns and Minnie Elizabeth Cunningham Muns in Lincoln County, Okla.
He is survived by a companion, Betty Desmarteau of Haysville; a son, Lonny Desmarteau of Bellevue, Wash.; two daughters, Vicky Glennon of Wichita and Sharon Cowan of Springfield, Mo.; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with Zion Lutheran Church.
Frances Roberts, 86
Frances J. Roberts, 86, retired paraprofessional at Peabody Elementary School, died Nov. 6 at Hutchinson Hospice House.
The graveside service will be held at 9:30 a.m. today, Nov. 9, at Prairie Lawn Cemetery in Peabody. A memorial service will follow at 10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Peabody. A dinner will follow the service.
She was born June 14, 1919, to Henry and Mary Koslowsky Rempel in Marion County. In 1941 she was married to G. Ernest Roberts, who predeceased him in 1972.
She is survived by a son, Randy and wife Jan Roberts of Hutchinson; a daughter, Melody and husband Tim Smith of San Antonio, Texas; a sister, Mildred Rempel; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with Hospice of Reno County in Hutchinson.
Martha Yauk, 94
Martha Yauk, 94, retired optician assistant, died Oct. 30 in Hillsboro.
A service was held Nov. 4 at Zion Lutheran Church in Hillsboro with pastor Brett Huebner officiating. Burial was at Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
She was born Aug. 28, 1911, to Margin Helmer and Suzanna Helmer Helmer in Durham. In 1932 she was married to Clinton Yauk, who predeceased her in 1995.
She is survived by a son, Morris and wife Arlene Yauk of Loveland, Colo.; a daughter, Phyllis and husband Don Elston of Wichita; a sister, Edith Rempel of Hillsboro; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
