Krista Marie Owen of Cherryvale and Peter John Richert of Hillsboro were married Aug. 13 at First Assembly of God Church in Augusta. Pastor Edsel Lovette of Augusta officiated the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Jeff and Kathy Owen of Cherryvale. The groom is the son of Edward and Phyllis Richert of Hillsboro.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a white matte satin strapless gown. The bodice, a side panel of the skirt and the chapel train were embellished with white daisies. A tiara of daisies encircled her blonde curls. Her bouquet was a cascade of white daisies with sheer streamers and ribbons with love knots.
Maid of honor was Jacklyn Williams, friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Elissa Richert, sister of the groom, and Natalie Regier, friend of the bride. The attendants wore royal blue gowns and carried miniature cascades of white daisies and white ribbons.
Best man was Drew Cederberg. Groomsmen were Will Higerd and Mike Sauerwein, friends of the groom. The groom and his attendants wore black tuxedos with white daisy boutonnieres. The groom with a white vest, while the attendants wore silver vests.
Ushers were Aaron Moss and Eric Moss, cousins of the bride.
Flower girl was Abbygale Laing, cousin of the bride. Ring bearer was Jaden Laing, second cousin of the bride.
Mothers of the bride and groom lit the individual candles. Musician was Vaughn Jost, friend of the groom.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church fellowship hall.
The bridal cake was on four "I Do" cake tiers decorated with silver and blue ribbon and white daisies. A candelabra and several candles surrounded the cake. The groom's cake, with a cross-country runner theme, was made by Mary Berrier, grandmother of the bride. The bridal cake was made by Berrier and Annie Lovette, friend of the bride.
The bride is a 2004 graduate of Colby High School. She is a sophomore at Tabor College in Hillsboro.
The groom is a 2001 graduate of Hillsboro High School. He will be postponing his education at Tabor while he performs his duty with the National Guard in Iraq.
