Donald and Marilyn (Schuessler) Mosiman of rural Furley will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 4, at Palmyra Baptist Church in rural Benton.
The couple were married Sept. 2, 1955, at First Baptist Church in Valley Center. Donald is a farmer and stockman, and Marilyn is retired from the Bank of Whitewater.
The reception for family and friends is hosted by the couple's children and grandchildren: Rhonda Mosiman of El Dorado; Bret and Julie Mosiman, Cort, Ellen and Addie of rural Benton; Allen and Diane Hosler, Lane and Brooke of rural El Dorado; Dennis and Tracy Boldt and Dillon of Hillsboro; and Bronson and Carolyn Webb, Matthew, Anna, Katie and Daniel of El Dorado.
The couple requests no gifts.
Goertzens celebrate 50 years with trip
Lee and Phyllis Goertzen of rural Newton celebrated 50 years of marriage with all of their children and grandchildren during a family vacation in June at Rocky Mountain Camp in Divide, Colo.
The weekend was spent worshipping and praising God for the blessings of 50 wonderful years.
Lee and Phyllis (Funk) were married Sept. 9, 1955, at Tabor Mennonite Church. The following week they moved to Evanston, Ill., for two years of 1-W service. They returned to Kansas, raised a family and continue to be active in the community.
Their children and grandchildren are Ann and Dale Claassen, Kaitlin and Sean of Elmira, Ore.; Nelson and Betsy Goertzen, Tyler, A.J. and Hope of Hesston; Chuck and Joy Goertzen, Sarah, Joshua, Kayley and Sam of Erie, Colo.; and Kay and Joel Schroeder, Jordan and Justen of Newton.
Funks celebrate
60 years of marriage
Harry and Esther Funk of Newton, formerly of Lehigh, celebrated 60 years of marriage Aug. 13 at Camp Hawk with all of the couple's children present.
The couple were married May 29, 1945, in Corn, Okla.
Using a video of snapshots showing the houses in which they have lived, the Funks reminisced about their life in Oklahoma, Texas and Kansas.
Daughter Peggy and husband Dennis Voth drove from Calgary, Alberta. Kenneth Funk rode his new Harley Davidson from New Orleans, La.
Dwayne and wife Leona Funk with daughter Vangie of Clinton, Okla., and son Nathan and wife Erin of Aurora, Neb. entertained with live bluegrass music.
Maxine Kirkpatrick and sons Jake and Paul of Wichita compiled a video showing the countries where the Funks' children, 10 grandchildren and three great-granddaughters have traveled and lived.
