Clarence Elmer Bartel, 80, farmer/stockman from Durham, died Aug. 23 at Via Christi Medical Center in Wichita.
The service was Aug. 26 at Enterprise Seventh Day Adventist Church with Pastor Lynn Westbrook officiating. Burial was at Durham Park Cemetery.
He was born April 13, 1925, to David D. and Anna Classen Bartel in Durham. In 1955 he was married to Ann Meier, who survives in Durham.
He is also survived by a daughter, Cheryl and husband Marlin Bartel of Hillsboro; a son, Marlin Bartel of Lincoln, Neb.; a brother, Dean Bartel of Olathe; two sisters, Audrey Bartel of Newton and Georgia Bartel of Wichita; and three grandchildren.
Memorials have been established with Enterprise S.D.A. Church and Becker City of Durham Library Fund.
LeRoy Roberts, 72
LeRoy Roberts, 72, U.S. Army veteran and Marion city employee, died Saturday, Aug. 27, at St. Luke Hospital in Marion.
The funeral is at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31, at Marion Christian Church with pastor Carl Helm officiating. Burial will be at Marion Cemetery with full military rites provided by Ft. Riley.
Family visitation was Tuesday, Aug. 30, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Zeiner Funeral Home in Marion.
He was born Nov. 12, 1932, to Roy G. Roberts and Sarah Katherin Allen. On April 12, 1953, he was married to Clara Louise "Lou" Sattler, who survives.
He is also survived by a daughter, Diana Lynn Myers and husband Calvin of Kalvesta; two sons, Richard LeRoy Roberts and wife Leeah of Palno, Texas, and David Riley Roberts and wife Sylvia of Towanda; a sister, Bonnie Ratzloff of Newton; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Memorials have been established with Marion Christian Church and the American Cancer Society.
Valarion Stika, 75
Valarion V. Stika, 75, died Aug. 25 at St. Luke Living Center.
The service was Aug. 29 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Marion. Burial was at Marion Cemetery.
He was born April 6, 1930, to Joseph and Mary (Oborny) Stika near Youngtown. In 1964 he was married to Delores Foth, who survives.
He is also survived by two sons, Jerry and wife Kay of Goessel and Dwayne and wife Elizabeth of Marion; two daughters, Darlene and husband Tom Whitecotton, and Lillian Leatherwood, both of Texas; a brother, Louis Stika Jr. of Marion; two sisters, Victoria Smollk and Henrietta Waner, both of Marion; 14 grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.
Memorials have been established with Newton Central Homecare and Hospice and Our Savior Lutheran Church.
