A three-some from Ottawa won the 10th annual Hillsboro-Marion Open contested this weekend on both the Marion and Hillsboro golf courses.
Capturing top honors in the championship flight of the 3-person scramble was Wally, Paul and Tim Resner with a score of 116.
Second place went to the Derby team of Dean Parker, Rick Smith and Jeff Martin (118), third was won in a playoff by Steve Keplar, Rod Wooden and Cory Horton (119) of Council Grove, while fourth went to by Brad Sherard and Bill Kliewer of Wichita and Trent Ash of Newton (119).
Taking top honors in the first flight was the Marion team of Bryan, Jerry and Don Hess (125).
Second went to Doug Dick and Ken Johnson of Hillsboro and Tim Young of Marion in a playoff victory over the team of John Templin, Trey Templin and Bob Taylor of Leon (126).
Taking fourth were Tim Christiansen, Todd Gordon and Jeff Goering of Marion (129).
Winning the second flight with a 129 was the Marion team of Aaron Hett, Nickolas Hett and Bill Landry.
Second place went to David Flax, Daren Flax and Duane McFeeters (130) of Wichita, third to Doug Johnson, Ken Johnson and Steve Johnson (132) of Wichita and fourth to Brice Foth, Scott Schultz and Rick Bressie (133) of Peabody and Lehigh.
Top honors in the third flight went to Stuart Meador, Rodney Richmond and Tim Ash of Marion (135).
Second went to Larry, Eric and Mark Winter (136) of Wichita in a playoff victory over Dan Zerger, Tom Ratzlaff and Bob Glick of Moundridge. Fourth went to Corey Foth, Ferry Foth and James Simon of Peabody with a 136.
Aaron Winter, Wichita, won longest putt (22 feet, 6 inches) as did Harold Schultz, Hillsboro (20-2).
The longest drives were made by Greg Osbourn, Newton, and Paul Resner, Ottawa.
Closest to the pin went to Bob Gillispie, Newton, and Cory Horton, Council Grove.
The straightest drives were launched by Dick Wallace, Newton, and Gene Atwood, Whitewater.
