Defending Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference champion Tabor College was picked by KCAC coaches to finish second in the 2005 volleyball season.
Tabor finished four points behind rival Bethel College in the voting, receiving three first-place votes compared to five or the Threshers.
"That's perfect," said Bluejay coach Amy Ratzlaff said of the prediction. "There's absolutely no benefit (to being picked first) other than you have a huge bull's-eye on you. But being picked second also shows us respect."
The Bluejays (19-11) finished last season in a first-place tie with Ottawa at 15-3 in the KCAC. Bethel placed third at 13-5.
Tabor opens the 2005 campaign at Point Lookout, Mo., in the College of the Ozarks Tournament Sept. 2.
