Rufus and Lois (Hanneman) Lohrenz celebrated their 50th anniversary at a resort in Oklahoma with their children and 19 grandchildren.

They were married Aug. 9, 1955, at the Ebenfeld Church in rural Hillsboro. Rufus's father, G.W. Lohrenz, performed the wedding ceremony and Pastor Allen Fast preached the sermon.

The couple's children are Gail and Lawrence Kliewer of Newton, Tim and Collen Lohrenz of Houston, Texas, Gwen and Bennett Brown of Bethany, Okla., Tammy and Terryl Friesen of Arlington, Texas, and Dawn and Rex Friesen of Oxford.
