Lindsey Penner and Richard Sola, both of Olathe, were married at 3 p.m. March 12 at Trinity Mennonite Church in Hillsboro.
The bride is the daughter of Stuart and Lynette Penner of Hillsboro and granddaughter of Milton and Linda Goertzen of Goessel and Elda Penner of North Newton.
The groom is the son of Vince and Sandy Sola and grandson of Frank and Catherine Stretz and Louis and Joyce Sola, all of Olathe.
Pastor Tim Kliewer and Father Steve Gronert officiated the double-ring ceremony. Pastor Corey Miller read scripture.
Excorted by her father, the bride wore an ivory satin strapless gown with an asymmetrical drape skirt and half cathedral-length train. The bodice and skirt insert featured two-tone ivory and rum-pink beaded Schiffli lace. Her ivory waist-length tulle veil was edged in rum-pink satin. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of red roses.
Matron of honor was Carrie Friesen and maid of honor was Robyn Penner, sisters of the bride. Bridesmaid was Denise Zlab, friend of the bride. Personal attendant was Debbie Straub, sister of the groom. Flower girls were Stephanie and Emily Straub, nieces of the groom.
Best men were Mike Sola and Jim Sola, brothers of the groom. Groomsman was Hank Straub, brother-in-law of the groom. Ring bearers were Nick Sola and Drew Sola, nephews of the groom.
Candle lighters were Christina Lindsay and Carlene Nickel, and guest book attendants were Kristen Fisher and Sue Baker, all friends of the bride.
Ushers were John Bolyard, Scott MacCallum, Matt Miller and Shaun Reeves, all friends of the groom.
Gift attendants were Ryan Goertzen, Laird and Heath Goertzen, Nicole and Tia Goertzen, and Daniel and Marina Kaufman, all cousins of the bride. Program and favor attendants included Abby Sola, Josh Sola and Jake Sola, niece and nephews of the groom. Videographers were Steve Goertzen, uncle of the bride, and Shannon Friesen, brother-in-law of the bride. Merlin Funk was in charge of the sound system.
Musicians included Roseann Penner Kaufman, organist, and Mitch Kaufman, trombonist, aunt and uncle of the bride; and Krista Winter, soloist, and David Baker, guitarist, friends of the bride.
Following the wedding ceremony, a reception and dance was held at the McPherson Red Coach Inn.
The bride is a 1999 Hillsboro High School graduate and a May 2004 Kansas State University graduate majoring in early childhood education. She is a two-year-old teacher at the Goddard School in Overland Park.
The groom is a 1999 Olathe South High School graduate and a December 2003 KSU graduate majoring in secondary education. He is a ninth-grade world history teacher and coaches football and basketball at Chisholm Trail Junior High School in Olathe.
The rehearsal dinner was held March 11 at the Hillsboro Scout House, hosted by the groom's parents and catered by Panhandler's Catering.
Following a honeymoon to Disney World in Orlando, Fla., the couple resides in Gardner.
