Janet Christenson, 50

Janet Sue Christenson, 50, nurse, died July 27 at Via Christi Regional Medical Center in Wichita.

Services were held July 29 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Wichita. Burial was at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in rural White City.

She was born Dec. 30, 1954, to Harold and Shirley Tucker in Anthony. In 1984 she was married to Albert Christenson, who survives in Bel Aire.

She is also survived by a daughter, Sarah Christenson, and a son, Andrew Christenson, both of Bel Aire; her mother and stepfather, Shirley and Duane Hamm of Hillsboro; a stepbrother, Myron Hamm of Greer, S.C.; and two stepsisters, Charlene Thiessen of McPherson and Cherie Goossen of Hillsboro.

Memorials have been established with the National Kidney Foundation and First Baptist Church of Durham.

Ted Hamm, 85

Theodore Hamm, 85, retired AMPI employee, died Aug. 7 at Salem Nursing Home in Hillsboro.

The service is at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, at First Baptist Church in Durham, with Pastor Lyndon Decker officiating. Burial is at Durham Park Cemetery.

He was born June 25, 1920, to Edward and Bertha Hill Hamm in Hillsboro. In 1945 he was married to Ruth Black, who predeceased him in 1992.

He is survived by six sons, Clinton of Newton, Loren of McPherson and Alan, Howard, Terry and Dennis, all of Hillsboro; a daughter, Sandra Bezdek of Hillsboro; three brothers, Duane and Delbert, both of Hillsboro, and Marvin of Wells; two sisters, Elma Klein and Florence Hett, both of Hillsboro; 18 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

A memorial has been established with First Southern Baptist Church of Hillsboro.

Charles McMannis, 76

Charles Elman McMannis, 76, oil fields worker, died Aug. 7 in Canton.

The service is at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, at Canton Christian Church, with Pastor Jack Smith officiating. Interment is at Canton Township Cemetery.

He was born April 2, 1929, to Jefferson LaVier and Ione Lee Nabors McMannis in Skiatook, Okla. In 1948 he was married to Jean Stewart, who survives in Canton.

He is also survived by two sons, David K. McMannis and Jeffery D. McMannis, both of Canton; two daughters, Jeanne Decker and Cathy Vogts, both of Canton; two brothers, LaVier McMannis of Hutchinson and Donald McMannis of Burrton; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Memorials have been established with Hospice Care of Kansas and Canton Christian Church.
