Mark Bartell of Hesston, Cindy Bartell of Moundridge and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Haug of Jetmore announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their children, Kara Elise Bartell and Russell Oliver Haug.
The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Allen Dale Kaufman of McPherson, Leona Kaufman of North Newton, Darleen Bartell and the late Earl Bartell of Mound-ridge. She is a 2001 graduate of Hesston High School and graduated in May from Bethel College in North Newton with a bachelor's degree in nursing.
Her fiance is the grandson of Oliver and Marcella Mohn of Hillsboro and the late Russell and Fern Haug of Ness City. He is a 2001 graduate of Jetmore High School. He attended Bethel College for two years, then transferred to Wichita State University, where he will graduate next May with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
The wedding is set for July 23 at Eden Mennonite Church in Moundridge.
Wessel, Crowell
to wed June 25
Judy and Michael Powers of Marion and Bill and Linda Wessel of Council Grove announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Michelle Wessel, to Ryan Crowell, son of Mona Ripey of Forsythe, Mo., and Olin Crowell of Gardner.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Gilbert and Teresa Stallbaumer and the late Francis and Ellie Wessel, all of Seneca, and Lynna Powers and the late Max Powers of Yates Center. She is a 1998 graduate of Marion High School and is completing her accounting degree. She is employed by a private investment firm in Kansas City as an investment manager.
Her fiance is the grandson of Glen and Ava Crowell of Longton. He is a 1995 graduate of Greenwood High School in Springfield, Mo., and of Lawrence Beauty Academy. He works as a hair stylist at Sakaroff's Salon and is co-owner of the Hair Cut, both in Lawrence. He is also a member of the L'Oreal Professional Artistic Technical Team.
The couple will be married June 25 in an outdoor ceremony in Lawrence.
