Vickie Beck of Whitewater and Karole Martin of Andale announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their children, Natalie Lang and Steven Martin.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Agnes Steinert of Hillsboro and the late Woody Steinert. She is a graduate of Remington High School and is employed at Youthville in Newton.

Her fiance is also the son of the late John Martin. He is a graduate of Andale High School and Bethel College of Newton.

The wedding is set for June 4 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Andale.

Jirak, Gear to wed June 11 in Pilsen

Francis and Mary Jirak of Tampa announce the engagement of their daughter, Maria Rose Jirak, to Travis Gear, son of David and Michelle Gear of Wichita.

The bride-elect is a 2002 graduate of Centre High School and a 2004 graduate of Xenon International School of Hair Design. She works as a cosmetologist at Beauty First Salon and Spa in Wichita.

Her fiance is a 2001 graduate of Bishop Carroll High School in Wichita and will earn a bachelor's degree in history from Kansas State University in May.

The couple will be married June 11 in St. John Nepmucene Catholic Church in Pilsen.

Duerksen, Amundson to marry July 16

Karma Duerksen and John Amundson announce their engagement and approaching marriage.

Parents of the couple are Dennis and Norma Duerksen of Hillsboro and Bob and Virginia Amundson of Paradise Valley, Ariz.

The bride-to-be is a 1992 graduate of Goessel High School and a 1996 graduate of Bethel College with degrees in elementary education and global studies. She teaches at J. Erik Jonsson Community School in Dallas, Texas.

Her fiance is a 1992 graduate of Judson High School and attended Arizona State University. He is employed with North American Stainless in Mesa, Ariz.

The couple plans an outdoor wedding July 16 at the bride-to-be's parents' farm.
