Heading up the organization for the tournament are the golf coaches at the two high schools, Doug Dick at Marion and Scott O'Hare at Hillsboro.
"I feel real good about the way it went off," O'Hare said. "It's certainly a very exciting and interesting tournament for us to run. But it does take a lot of time to get everything organized, especially to combine all the scores for the 36-hole total.
"I was pleased that we had a decent day for it," he added. "The wind was pretty tough, but as far as temperatures go, and the lack of severe weather and storms, it was a good thing to get it in."
O'Hare said he was a little disappointed in his team's play at Marion, but felt it rebounded well in the afternoon, when fatigue is often a factor.
"We shot well enough here to at least make a charge to maybe finish in the top three as a team in the 36-hole overall," he said. "We had kind of dug ourselves into a hole after our morning rounds at Marion.
"All the guys had at least one good nine-hole score on both courses, but they also had a round on each course that was not as good as their average," O'Hare said.
Sacred Heart-Battling light rain and unseasonably cool conditions almost as much as other schools, the Hillsboro golf team won the four-man division and placed third in the two-man division among nine competing teams at the Sacred Heart Invitational in Salina April 30.
Marion finished fifth in four-man and sixth in two-man.

Harrison's score placed him fifth in the individual-medalist competition. Bina was seven and Kent 10th. Justin Williams of St. Johns took top honors with a 76.
Marion's four-man team of Keith Jones (86), Chase Carlson (87), John Whitwell (90) and Kevin Costello (94) combined for a score of 357.
