Tabor College women's basketball coach Rusty Allen has signed two Kansas high school seniors to play for Tabor College next year.
Cheri Mount, a 5-foot, 8-inch forward, Mount was a three-year letter-winner at Ellsworth High School. She also won the Miss Hustle Award and was a member of the SACB all-star team.
"Cheri brings a strong Christian background and we are excited to add her to our team," Allen said. "She pays attention to the details of the game. She can do a wide variety of things with and without the ball."
Mount was a member of the honor roll four years and was on the Class 3A championship cross-country team.
She is the daughter of Dan and June Mount, Ellsworth.
Also signing with Tabor was Abby Cunningham, a 5-5 guard at Sunrise Christian Academy.
Cunningham was named first team All Tri-State for private schools.
She was also the leading 3-point field-goal shooter and averaged 14 points per game.
"Abby will fit very well at Tabor," Allen said. "She is a solid player, a good student and has outstanding Christian character. She is an excellent 3-point shooter and is used to winning."
Cunningham's team won the Tri-State championship in 2002, 2003 and 2004. The team was runner-up this year.
She is the daughter of Phil and Janet Cunningham, Sedgwick.
