Don "Pops" Herbel, 69, painter in fine arts, residential and commercial projects, died April 15 in Fort Collins, Colo.
The service was Tuesday morning at Zion Lutheran Church in Hillsboro. Minister Clark M. Davis officiated. Burial was at Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Cemetery.
He was born Aug. 4, 1935, to Fritz and Anna Reissig Herbel in Hillsboro. In 1972 he married Marla Jarvis, who survives.
He is also survived by four sons, Jeff Young of Jacksonville, N.C., David Herbel of Marietta, Okla., Glen Herbel of Highlands Ranch, Colo., and Troy Young of Greeley, Colo.; three daughters, Gayla Herbel of Loveland, Colo, Barbra Harris of Greeley, and Greta Slade of Aurora, Colo.; one brother, Jack Herbel of Fremont, Calif.; eight grandchildren; one step-great-grandson and one great-grandchild on the way.

Mary Kaiser, 86
Mary R. Kaiser, 86, homemaker and retired painter and wallpaper installer, died April 11 at Shiloh Manor Nursing Home in Canton.
The funeral service was Friday morning at Canton Christian Church. Pastor Jack Smith presided. Interment was at Canton Township Cemetery.
She was born March 18, 1919, to Marion A.I. and Dovie Edwards Sorden in Golden City, Mo. In 1941, she was married to John L. Kaiser, who predeceased her in 1993.
She is survived by one son, Robert J. Kaiser of Eagle River, Alaska; two brothers, William Sorden of Clinton, Mo., and Gene Sorden of Windsor, Mo.; one sister, Ruth Hargis of Warrensburg, Mo.; three grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Memorials have been established with Canton Christian Church and the Canton-Galva Food Bank.
Dorothy Jean McFadden, 87
Dorothy Jean McFadden, 87, died April 14 in Illinois.
A graveside service is planned for 1 p.m. today, April 20, at the Marion Cemetery.
She is survived by three daughters, Janet Trulove, Jean Ann (Barry) Thompson and Greta Prince, all of Illinois; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with the Faith United Protestant Church in Park Forest, Ill.
Alicia Pippin, 18
Alicia Pippin, 18, died April 13 at her home in Marion.
Services were Monday afternoon at Trinity Mennonite Church in Hillsboro. Pastor Don Mashburn of Straussburg Baptist Church in Marion officiated.
She was born June 18, 1986, to her father Brett and mother Sherri in Emporia.
She is survived by her mother, Sherri Sells and husband, Fletcher, of Marion; father, Brett Pippin and wife, Jan, of Dumas, Texas; maternal grandparents, Lauren Enns and Luetta of Hillsboro; paternal grandmothers, Jane McAdoo and Margaret Pippin; stepbrothers, Jesse and Zach Murray of Dumas; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Memorials have been established with Straussburg Baptist Church Building Fund and Camp Mennoscah in care of Zeiner Funeral Home in Marion.
Orlando Schultz, 88
Orlando Schultz, 88, carpenter, died April 12 in Hillsboro.
Services were Monday morning at Trinity Mennonite Church. Pastor Bruce Porter officiated. Burial was at Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Cemetery.
He was born August 26, 1916, to David A. and Marie (Fast) Schultz in Chinook, Mont. In 1947, he was married to Marie Ediger, who survives.
He is also survived by two sons, Harold Schultz of Hillsboro and Paul Schultz of Valley Center; four daughters, Verda Converse and Linda Schultz, both of Wichita, Ruth Funk of Hillsboro, and Rachel Griffith of WaKeeney; one brother, Al Schultz of Maple Grove, Minn.; two sisters, Rosie Fadenrecht of Salem, Ore., and Lillian Richert of Rockford, Ill.; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Memorials have been established with Central Homecare and Hospice and Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church Building Fund.
