Wessel, Hohnbaum wed in Wichita

Camille Wessel of Marion and Jeff Hohnbaum, Wichita, were married July 31 at the Wichita Scottish Rite Center in downtown Wichita. Pastor Michael Poage, Fairmont United Church of Christ, Wichita, officiated at the service. The Honorable Michael Powers, stepfather of the bride, officiated at the exchange of the wedding vows.

The bride is the daughter of Judy and Michael Powers of Marion and Bill and Linda Wessel of Council Grove. The groom is the son of Steven and Claudia Hohnbaum of Wichita.

Maid of honor was Michelle Wessel of Lawrence, sister of the bride. Best man was Chris Hecox of Wichita, friend of the groom.

Bridesmaids were Maggie Powers of Marion and Cristy Brown of Wichita, stepsisters of the bride; and Polly Baber of Overland Park, Jamie Reyes of Wichita, and Anna Coats of Overland Park, friends of the couple.

Groomsmen were Brian Goward, Scott Mann and Mike Holt, all of Wichita, Jason Gray of Lawrence and Jason Warner of Manhattan, friends of the groom.

Ushers were Eric Brown of Council Grove, Matt Powers of Marion and Josh Powers of Lawrence, stepbrothers of the bride. Melisa Hohnbaum of Pueblo, Colo., sister of the groom, attended the guest book.

The bride wore a Maggie Sottero two-piece, diamond-white satin gown with a corseted back and chapel-length train. The gown was embellished with swarovski crystals, beads, embroidery and cording. Her elbow-length illusion veil was topped with a faceted crystal tiara. The bride wore a double-strand crystal necklace and bracelet that was her great-grandma Mulryans' and matching crystal earrings custom-made by her sister, Michelle. Hailey Eisenbarth of Seneca, cousin of the bride, was the bride's personal attendant.

The bride carried a swag bouquet of calla lilies, bear grass and lemon grass. Entwined in the bouquet was a crystal rosary belonging to her mother, made by the bride's Grandma Wessel.

A buffet dinner and dance followed the ceremony. Assisting at the buffet were Bonnie Eisenbarth of Seneca, and Macky Taylor of Emporia, aunts of the bride. Attending the cake table were Joyce Schmitz of Baileyville and Betty Wessel of Spring Hill, aunts of the bride, along with Emily Mann of Wichita, and Lori Serrien of Manhattan, friends of the bride.

The bride graduated from Marion High School and Kansas State University. She is the director and lead teacher of Wichita East High School YMCA Head Start Child Development Center. The groom is a graduate of Wichita Northwest High School and Kansas State University. He is employed as a field engineer by Hutton Construction, Wichita.

The groom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner Friday evening at the Rolling Hills Country Club.

Following a honeymoon to Jamaica, the couple is in Wichita.
