Toby Linn Brady, 38

Toby Linn Brady, 38, U.S. Navy meteorologist, died Feb. 14 at Corpus Christi, Texas.

Services were held Saturday, Feb. 19 at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home in Newton with Daniel Hatfield officiating. Burial was at Greenwood Cemetery in Newton.

He was born Jan. 12, 1967, to Patricia Lemon and Robert Brady in Newton. On Feb. 17, 2001, he was married to Tamera A. Thompson, who survives.

He is also survived by two sons, Dustin Davis of Fort Benning, Ga., and Dakota Cibolski of Bishop, Texas; his mother, Patricia Lemon of Florence, and father and Stepmother, Robert and Ria Brady of Ramona; and a sister, Kitty and Randy Thompson of Emporia.

Memorials have been established with the American Cancer Society and the Lance Armstrong Foundation, in care of Broadway Colonial Funeral Home.

Carlton Johnson, 89

Carlton W. Johnson, 89, U.S. Army veteran and retired custodian for Canton school system, died Feb. 18 at Memorial Hospital in McPherson.

He was born July 19, 1915, at McPherson.

A memorial has been established with the Canton Senior Center, in care of Olson's Mortuary in Canton.

Wilbur Schroeder, 96

Wilbur "Bill" G. Schroeder, 96, of Emporia, a U.S. Army veteran and retired owner of Navrats Office Supply in Garden City, died Feb. 6 at Newman Regional Health in Emporia.

A memorial service was held Feb. 12 at the First United Methodist Church in Bella Vista, Ark. Cremation arrangements were made by Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, and burial of remains was at Benton County Memorial Park in Rogers, Ark.

He was born June 10, 1908, to Gerhard and Anna Bartel Schroeder in Hillsboro. On July 27, 1935, he was married to Lola Mercedes Mortiz, who predeceased him in 1985.

He is survived by a son, Lee Schroeder of Emporia; three daughters, Karen Tate of Oklahoma City, Okla., Vicki Estes of Sikeston, Mo., and Karla Crocker of Stigler, Okla.; a sister, Verna Pankratz of Hillsboro; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 20 Boyce Drive, Bella Vista, AR 72714 or The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, P.O. Box 650309, Dallas, TX 75265-0309.
